Shepherds took an early 2-0 advantage in their encounter with the champions, with excellent wins from Mick Wilsden (16) and Paul Botterill, who registered a maximum 180 score. Britannia fought back to level the match at 3-3, Ray McInally including a good 17-dart leg and a 180 score. Britannia dug deep and won the remaining pairs encounters to run out 8-3 victors.
