Williams goes 'home'

From the Evening Press, first published Wednesday 27th Jun 2001.

York City's former veteran striker John Willams has embarked upon his third spell with Third Division Swansea City after joining on a Bosman free transfer from Darlington.

The 33-year-old began his professional career at the Vetch ten years ago before moving on to Coventry where he spent a loan spell with the Swans.

Williams' signing on a two-year deal is to compensate for the imminent departure of Giovanni Savarese, and Swansea managing director Mike Lewis is delighted with the return of one of the club's favourite sons.
