YORK'S most senior police officer was expected to announce today that his officers have been among the most successful in the country at cutting crime.
Chief Superintendent Tim Madgwick was due to highlight how crimes including burglary, theft and vehicle-related crime have been cut dramatically.
The officer, who is responsible for crime-fighting in York and Selby, is proud of his achievements since he took office six months ago. The York and Selby basic command unit was expected to emerge as one of the most improved areas in England and Wales.
