HUNDREDS of Scouts will march to York Minster tomorrow to celebrate 100 years of Scouting.
The Scouts were set up by Robert Baden Powell in 1907, and the celebration coincides with the Minster's St George's Day service tomorrow.
The event is one of several to be held in York this year to mark the Scouting
centenary. In July, 500 local Scouts will bed down in sleeping bags in the
cathedral's nave.
Organisers are confident former members will come together to meet the youngest new recruits.
Larry Gray, county band adviser, said: "It promises to be a huge event."
